KINLEY TIAN | FOUNDER & PRINCIPAL
Heritage, Collection & Vision
Kinley Tian’s practice is shaped by a family tradition of collecting Asian art, sustained across generations as an expression of cultural stewardship, scholarship and family honour. Growing up with Chinese ceramics, Asian antiquities and works selected for their provenance gave her an early understanding that an object can carry memory, identity and value far beyond decoration.
In her generation, that inheritance has become a contemporary design method. Kinley brings Asian antiques and contemporary art into the architectural process from the outset, considering scale, material, light, circulation and provenance alongside the building itself. The result is not a themed interior, but a composed dialogue between old and new: historic objects are given room to breathe, contemporary works sharpen the present, and every piece has a reason to belong.
Professional Excellence
With an academic foundation from Christie’s Education in Chinese Art and Ceramics, Kinley is a Sydney-based multi-award-winning interior architect and private art advisor. Her work unites architectural rigour with artistic provenance through what she calls “tactile authenticity”. This philosophy has earned her triple Australian Good Design Awards, the Korea Good Design Award, GDA Hong Kong and the APDC Asia Pacific Design Award.
For private residences, her role can extend from spatial planning and material selection to Asian antique acquisition, contemporary art curation, collection strategy and auction representation. This integrated approach allows architecture and collection to develop as one coherent legacy.
Global Influence
From her studio in Sydney, Kinley works with an international clientele of discerning homeowners and collectors. Her spatial installations have been exhibited at PMQ Central, Hong Kong, demonstrating her ability to place museum-grade Asian antiquities and contemporary art within modern architectural frameworks.
For Kinley, true luxury is quiet. It is found in disciplined proportion, natural light, authentic materials and the enduring value of a carefully formed art collection. Each residence is conceived not simply as an interior, but as a curated legacy that can continue to evolve across generations.
Kinley Tian
其作品曾三次获得 Australian Good Design Awards,并获得 Korea Good Design Award、GDA Hong Kong 与 APDC Asia Pacific Design Award。
